I figured we might just have similar tastes and ideologies. So I took it upon myself to read these books and take a favorite or somewhat moving excerpt from them and share it with you. How you take it and what you do with it is totally up to you. This can be some dangerous shit homie….lol

Enlightenment in Zen does not mean a change in behavior, but a realization of the nature of ordinary life. The end point is the beginning, and the great virtue is simplicity.
“Au ichi” meaning to cut opponent as he cuts you. This is the ultimate timing…it is lack of anger. It means to treat your enemy as an honored guest. It also means to abandon your life or throw away fear.

German Philospher Arthur Schopenhauer asked the question “How can a soldier throw himself on a hand grenade to save his fellows?” From whence come his love and courage? Schopenhauer answer cuts to the quick. That soldier he wrote has he sudden realization that he and his fellow soldiers are one. A overwhelming feelings of such a great camaraderie.
PXKaes: Sometimes I feel like I need to be the whipping boy or the guy that has to jump on the grenade to save others from going thru what I went thru. I guess the more hurtful realization of this is would they do the same for me? Ignorance is bliss so I stopped asking this recently and accepted its just who I am.

If I’d gone ahead and died ten years ago, I’d probably be a cult figure today. Pop artist did images that anybody walking down broadway could recognize in a split second–Ex: Comics, picnic tables, mens trousers, celebrities, shower curtains refrigerators, coke bottles–All the great modern things that the Abstract Expressionists tried so hard not to notice at all.

PxKaes: The opening line had me from the jump, maybe I’m a little morbid or emo or bipolar or hell who knows? All those things rolled up into one at times. Andy’s look and honesty about what he viewed as art is respectable and the struggle and journey to get to where his art is at today is very inspiring…Plus his pieces go for cake

**Shout out and mahalos to Mister Robertson, Billy and Tams for the magazines….
